Mal ganz davon abgesehen, daß mich dieses Nintendo DS nicht besonders interessiert, flackert's mir auf der Seite zu extrem. Sprich: mit dem Werbemüll hast Du's heftig übertrieben. Wenn der Quatsch schon sein muß (warum auch immer), dann solltest Du mindestens die Hälfte in die Tonne kicken.
Zudem ist die Schrift zu klein. Ich muß bei mir eine Stufe vergrößern, damit ich den Text auf der Startseite ohne größere Anstrengungen lesen kann (Firefox 1.0.4 unter Linux). Es wäre eine Überlegung wert, die Schriftgrößen im Stylesheet nicht in px sondern in pt oder einer anderen relativen Einheit anzugeben. Dann bleibt der Text auch auf hochauflösenden Displays lesbar.

Tipp von meiner Seite: Einmal für's body- oder html-Element in em angeben, danach nur noch mit Prozentangaben arbeiten. Das behindert im Browser integrierte Vergrößerungsfunktionen nicht und erlaubt sehr einfaches anpassen der Schriftgröße via Stylesheet - bei voller Größenkontrolle.

ich könnte es so einstellen, dass die ganze seite für 1024x768 optimiert ist.
das mit der werbung: wenn ie nicht da ist würde ich da noch nicht mal 20-30 besucher / tag bekommen.

Was bringt Dir eine vermeintliche Optimierung auf eine bestimmte Bildschirmauflösung? Das ändert nichts an der Tatsache, daß Deine Schrift wegen fester Pixel-Angaben für hochauflösende Displays einfach zu klein ist.
Du setzt mit Deinen 12px voraus, daß jeder Besucher Deiner Site ein Display hat, das die üblichen ~96DPI anzeigt. Mehr DPI sind aber v.a. bei Notebooks langsam aber sicher an der Tagesordnung. Man findet auch schon erste 19"-TFTs in Preisregionen, die für Home-User interessant werden, die eine physikalische Auflösung von 1600x1200 statt der bisher üblichen 1280x1024 haben. Eine 12 Pixel große Schrift sieht auf solchen Displays bestenfalls wie Fliegendreck aus. Lesbar ist es aber auf jeden Fall nicht mehr.
Du solltest also lieber darauf optimieren, daß Du nicht weißt, wieviel DPI das Display eines Besuchers anzeigt. Und dafür bleibt Dir nichts anderes übrig, relative statt absolute Größenangaben für die Schrift zu machen.

Ich kenne phpkit nicht. Aber Du wirst dort sicher irgendwo das Stylesheet ändern können (beim Template vielleicht?). Versuch das rauszufinden und beherzige dann Robbes Tip ein Stück weiter oben. Der Rest (also eine vernünftige Größe der Schrift) ergibt sich dann auf Client-Seite ganz automatisch anhand der Systemeinstellungen des Users.

Am HTML-Code mußt Du (erst mal) gar nichts ändern, sondern am Stylesheet. Im Source Deiner Startseite steht im Head folgendes:

ja nur ein bisschen sch***** dass die startseite in php ist und nicht in html

da steht auch was von px drin
ich habe mit dem editor (windows) px durch pt ersetzt aber dann hat sich nur im adminbereich was getan
